The world of cannabinoids is still evolving. First it was delta products, then THC based products and now we have HHC based products. With cannabis technology advancing at such a rapid pace, now is the perfect time to become a dedicated cannabis enthusiast. Especially after the introduction of hexahydrocannabiforol (HHC-P). If this cannabinoid sounds like a cross between HHC (hexahydrocannabinol) and tetrahydrocannabiphorol (THC-P), then in a way it is.
We are still learning about the HHC-P products, but we already have a good idea of their basic characteristics and what types of cannabis users will enjoy them the most and use them to their full potential.
WHAT IS HHC-P?
Again, HHC-P is something like THC-P HHC – now if that confuses you, we don’t blame you. THC-P is a naturally occurring cannabinoid found in cannabis, first discovered in 2019. What makes THC-P so impressive is its ability to bind to CB1 receptors in the brain 31 times more than delta 9 THC , giving it a high that some say is about 10 times more potent than the more traditional THC compound. THC-P gets its increased potency from the extra 7 carbon atoms in the side chain on a molecular scale.
HHC-P is actually the hydrogenated form of THC-P. This means that it is partly made of hydrogen, is extremely chemically stable, and yet can still provide the same properties as THC-P. Those familiar with HHC will understand the analogous relationship between HHC-P and THC-P, and HHC and delta 9 THC.
IS HHC-P NATURAL?
HHC-P does not occur naturally in cannabis, although HHC and THC-P do occur. Hexahydrocannabiphorol is produced through an isomerization process, which is how we get most of our hemp products today, including delta 8, THC-P and HHC. Isomerization is a way to reconfigure cannabidiol (CBD) molecules to convert the cannabinoid into a new one – in this case, HHC-P.
Are all cannabinoids isomers of each other? How? Because they are all derived from cannabigerol (CBG), the initial cannabinoid that appears in cannabis before it breaks down into over a hundred individual cannabinoids as the plant matures. Translation: All cannabinoids have the same molecules and therefore their arrangement converts them into different cannabinoids. CBD is used to make HHC-P products because it is abundantly available in the plant, making the process highly cost-effective.
SO IS HHC-P SYNTHETIC?
Yes, hexahydrocannabiforol is a synthetic cannabinoid that was created in a laboratory by a professional scientist. HHC-P does not occur in nature and must be synthesized in the laboratory. You can understand why it is also so important to have a true understanding of the third party labs required in our industry to measure the content of this HHC-P product you receive.
WHAT ARE THE PSYCHOACTIVE EFFECTS OF HHC-P?
Hexahydrocannabiphorol (HHC-P) is a psychoactive cannabinoid, and that’s for sure. This doesn’t sound like a broken record, but consider how HHC-P has so much in common with HHC and THC-P. HHC is considered as psychoactive as delta 9 THC, if not a little milder. THC-P, which mimics HHC-P very closely, is, as we said, potentially 10 times more intoxicating than delta 9.
So while we don’t yet know the details of the HHC-P high because the cannabinoid is so new, it’s safe to say that this is another potent cannabinoid that beginners should be able to handle.
When it comes to the nature of the high, we don’t have many references to draw from. But many describe it as highly euphoric – which makes sense given its similarity to tetrahydrocannabiphorol (HHC-P). And that’s about all we know so far, although that’s a lot for many users, as a huge burst of euphoria along with a much stronger than typical THC high is what many of today’s users are looking for.
WHAT POTENTIAL BENEFITS HHC-P HAS?
Again, this is where the novelty hexahydrocannabiforol fails us. HHC-P is such a new addition to the market that there are no clinical studies on its properties. Ultimately, it is a cannabinoid that acts on CB1 receptors much more often than delta 9 THC. Basically, its general effects on the nervous system where the endocannabinoid system’s CB1 receptors are located are likely to be quite strong.
This can have positive implications in terms of physical discomfort, appetite, nausea, mood, sleep, and cognitive effects. We hope to learn more over time.
WHERE CAN I BUY HHC-P?
Various types of HHC-P products are currently on the market and Canapharm is at the forefront in Europe as we prepare to launch HHC-P products to give users the opportunity to experience the impressive potential of this cannabinoid. Of course, you can count on lab-tested organic hexahydrocannabiphorol distillate combined with fresh, pure ingredients, because that’s what Canapharm has built its reputation on.
IT’S TIME TO FINALLY CHECK WHAT THE WORLD OF HHC-P CAN OFFER TODAY!
Hexahydrocannabiphorol is the newest cannabinoid to enter the legal cannabis scene and promises a high dose of intoxicating potency. Luckily, if you’re willing to give it a try, you’ll be able to do so in no time as Canapharm will be launching HHC-P products soon, including our signature lab-tested vaporizers.
Remember that while using hexahydrocannabiphorol (HHC-P), avoid driving, operating heavy machinery or equipment, or performing any serious task that requires a lot of attention. Also check with your doctor before trying HHC-P, especially if you are taking any medications (prescription or over-the-counter). Your doctor has access to your medical records and can therefore properly determine whether HHC-P should be part of your treatment regimen.
